We learn lots of exciting things in Year 5!

In History, we start of the year learning about the Kingdom of Benin that was within what is now Nigeria in Africa. Then we go on to learn about the civilization of Ancient Greece, considering if there is anything in our lives today that we can thank the Ancient Greeks for.

In Science, we get to learn about the movement of Earth, the moon and other planets relative to the Sun; the effect of different forces, like gravity, friction and air resistance, on other objects; and how humans change as they develop to old age.

We also get to develop our Spanish and have the opportunity to begin learning to play the glockenspiel, a fantastic tuned percussion instrument!

One of the many things that pupils look forward to in Year 5 is the amazing residential trip to Kilve Court with our fellow Camino schools.
